Quack About

The first bits are in the garage

The first few bits are in the garage, thank fuck for that.

I spent a couple of hours sorting, dusting and hoovering. I moved some bits around and threw out a few bags that had been a rodent’s home over winter. A different rodent, or maybe the same, and made a cosy looking home in the ground floor of Mrs Quack’s childhood doll’s house, so some renovations will be needed there.

A bits box and a toolbox now line the shelves earmarked for hobby bits. One shelf has been taken up by camping equipment, but I won’t begrudge it that, I have had some great times using that equipment and it deserves a decent home.

One of the mental blocks I was having was how to organise the shelves. I wanted some sort of box or crate system to stop it from becoming cluttered too quickly, but I couldn’t find what I wanted at a sensible price. I did find some 30x40x15 black plastic crates for about £3 each, but they looked fairly flimsy. Instead, I realised the cardboard apple boxes I had used to hold some supermarket shopping when I forgot a bag are almost exactly the same size! I have three already lying around, so I can make a good start on getting it sorted this week.

If all goes well, I should be able to try out the airbrush this weekend, only 7 months after I bought it!

Not bad…
